05 - "Hey Clara, why a sailboat?"

Welcome to my 5th blog post! I know it does not seem like much of a milestone, but for me, having to write it, get ideas, have my first blog, and all that stuff, it's fantastic to get five posts! Woohoo! Now- back to what you are here for! An actual blog post 😃

Everyone is asking me- “Hey, Clara! Why sailboat? I know a bunch of cruises you could love with slides and stuff!” Why sailboat? Because I don't care about all that mumbo jumbo a cruise ship has. -Well, I would generally, but for Antarctica? No- First of all, sailing seems so much more adventurous and not only that, but it’ll be such a journey going to Antartica by sailboat with my family.

Getting that once-in-a-lifetime experience you won't get on a cruise, like how it is for sailors, living free of spas, slides, and technology. Second of all, cruises are EXPENSIVE. I mean- so is our trip- but you get it. Plus, sailboats can get in all those nicks and nacks, cracks and crevices, and find where all the animals are- which my mom will love. I can already hear her yelling-“oHHHhH itS a PenGuInNn Can I briNg It HomEEeE!!” A cruise only takes the big areas, no way to get into everything.

I’m feeling sooooo anxious about the trip, only a month away. I feel so exited! I get to see a place not many people get to go to! All the animals… but at the same time im so scared! What if our ship doesn’t make it through the drake passage? What if we freeze? What if we get super sick? I have so many mixed feelings about our trip.
