01 - Antartica, the final frontier!

Hi everyone! I’m Clara, and I’m a native brazilian living in the USA! I love blue, don’t like beetle’s, and my winter break this year wont be like any of my other ones. Im going to Antartica! How did I even get to go there anyways? 

My dad is a very avid sailor, and he is always mentioning it, so I wasn’t surprised when he told me he had sailed to Antartica twice and once to South Georgia. He had gone before I was born, and went again with my mom after they married, and they never stop talking about it. How they went with Igor, a man who sailed around the world and grew up in antartica, and it was amazing. We always asked if we could go too. One day they told my little sister that when she turned 7 we would go. I thought it was one of those things that never happen you know? But when my dad said we were going when my sister turned 7, which was in one year at that time, I was super exited. Really? I remember thinking. I thought it was impossible, but here my dad was, super serious about this.

Now that it’s 2 months until we get to set sail, I get to know more about it, and want to share this with you. I will try to post as often as possible since I’m not sure if theres even internet down there! I know; NO INTERNET?! I hope not. My sister wont live if there isn’t any. 

Our expedition will be called ‘The White Balance Expedition’, and we are going to sail with Igor just like my parents had, on the same boat, ‘Kotik’. Are you ready to embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey with me? I hope so!
