Welcome! Before we begin, I wanted to remind you guys about last post! I said anyone who commented or sent a message about their feelings would get a shoutout in this post! Here are the amazing people who took their time to comment:
Minha Vovó querida - Jane Laub, Tia Gisele, My dad’s friend Renato Teixeira, Minha prima Isadora, Meu Padrinho Tio Beto, My Mom’s friends Ana Flávia Castro and Juliana Opipari, My teacher Mrs Reingold and Tio Rafa (My sisters Godfather)!
Moving onto the blog post!
A lot of people are asking me whether or not I’ll see polar bears. NO! They live in the ARTIC, we are going to ANTARCTICA and there are no polar bears there, the kind of animals we are going to see are a lot of birds; like a wondering albatross, the SECOND biggest bird in the world after a condor! A wondering albatross wing span is 8-11 feet and they can sleep in water! Dad says the wondering albatross sometimes follow, so we may have some birds-eye views on our journey! -hahah get it?-
Some other birds we are going to see are Petrel, Snow Petrel, other kinds of Albatross, and also Sooty which are beautiful for their gray color and leather-like beak! But the bird im most anxious to see is…. PENGUINS!
There are many types of birds in Antarctica and I want to see them all, like the Gentoo Penguins, Adele penguins, Chinstrap penguins, Macaroni penguins, -🍝haha- I hope to see some King penguins, we probably won't see any Emperor penguins though since they live in mainland and we are staying close to water.
BTW, there is a comment from tio Rafa about the Penguins: “Hey Clara, Perhaps you can clarify this for me: If Polar bears are carnivores, why don’t they eat Penguins?” (Answer at the end of the post if you still need it!)
We will see SEALS too! Like the Weddell seal -the friendly ones-, some leopard seals -the not-so-friendly ones; aka the grumpy bunch- which we gotta watch out for since they may bite our dingy thinking its their prey; the Weddells. -NOT THE WEDDELLS! YOUR THE SAME TYPE OF ANIMAL! BE NICE TO YOUR SEAL BRETHREN!- We may just see some elephant seals, -Dad says they stink; ew!-

But the animal Im hoping for is.. the whales! 🐋🌊 I cant wait to hear their blowing -yknow, when they blow through their blowhole and go WOoOshHh- and maybe some whale song! They are such peaceful giants! The most probable kind of whale we may see are the HUMPBACKS! Since they use Antarctica as a breeding ground. The one im really hoping to see though.. is an orca! Imagine seeing one in the wild! Pray for me haha 🙏🏻
Well thats it! Have a great rest of your day!
Answer to the riddle:
“Because the polar bears and penguins live on complete opposite sides of the world! Polar bears are in the Artic, penguins in the ANTARTIC! Hope that explains it :)”
Clara this is awesome!
I thought I already commented!! I’m so thrilled to be following along. Have you seen many whales??
Yeeees, totally agree with you, Clarinha, animals will be breathtaking to witness in the wild and in the peace of their habitat, eye to eye or just side by side, all the splashes, songs, flights, dances, magic moments to live, unforgetable it will be!!!
Ahahahah Birds Eye view looks like a dad joke to me!
